Great Games Galore is designed as an open-ended kit to build creativity and explore unique individual ideas while at the same time strengthening basic skills in math and literacy. Children find unlimited game making possibilities in this Kids’ Kit. The included items invite a multitude of learning opportunities. Teachers may opt to have children select their game type or may assign a game type based on students’ academic needs. Some game options include letter matching, beginning sight words and mathematics.
In preparation for their own “game-making,” students can explore a variety of familiar games. As students assemble their own game board, they are free to make their own choices and be as creative as they would like. When the children take turns playing each other’s games, they will be reinforcing their knowledge about letters, numbers, colors, and beginning sight words.

Core Academic Focus
Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet. Associate the short sounds with common spellings for the five major vowels. Read common high-frequency words by sight, color words and number words.
